I know how you feel...
too often, a wight is damaged
by the seemingly harsh "lies"
that arise from a bitter voice.
I do my best not to discourage.
I'm sorry if you're hurt,
battered by my criticism.
I don't want you to be
a narcissistic reproduction of me.
I have flaws, I have weaknesses.
My one and only wish
is to see you live a better life
than I did.
So despite the clicks of the tongue,
the endless reminders
and the way I push you forward,
dear child, please don't despise me.
Please take my words
as incentives to work your hardest.
There is no reason to hate.
There is no reason to misjudge.
I only mean to transform you
for the better.
Too often, children rebel against their parents because they feel "unloved." I am not one of those children. This poem speaks on the behalf of all the parents of China (including mine), who are usually strict and harsh to their children because they love them.

Oh this is just heart warming! :aww: I see this EVERYWHERE, and I all too often see that those who would best benefit from knowing do not take it for the value it offers. Too often have I seen kids who rebel against everything just because they do not see the value of the guidance that their family gives. It is very sad.

Great Job.
